I am a Biblical Studies scholar working at Queen's College and Memorial University of Newfoundland in St. John's, NL (Canada). I have a PhD from the Department for the Study of Religion at the University of Toronto.
My research and teaching focus on the development and interpretation of religious narratives. Recently I have focused on the exodus story as it was transmitted by Jewish authors in Hellenistic and Roman Egypt. Increasingly, I am interested in tracing the interpretative threads of the Abrahamic stories in antiquity.
I teach a range of classes, from Introductory Biblical Studies to advanced seminars in Hermeneutics. Reading primary texts is central to my teaching style. I love introducing students to new material and contextualizing it historically and culturally. I also teach writing skills and have developed numerous seminars for students and teachers on writing and grading practices.
In addition, I work in University fundraising at Memorial University. In this role I am responsible for maintaining the donor database and general office management.
I hope that you enjoy looking around my site!
